After update to v1.8.x it's crashing with 503 ERROR

Hi folks,

We are using right now the following setup:
  • LiteSpeed Cache 1.7.2
  • Wordpress 4.9.1
  • WooCommerce 3.2.6
That's our basic setup on CLOSTE servers. These are Google Cloud Servers. Unfortunately after updating the core plugin LiteSpeed Cache to 1.8.x we are getting an ugly 503 ERROR in the browser. Sometimes a 500 error. But basically, nothing is working at all. Just the standard page with 503 from LiteSpeed server. May I ask some experts here why this could have happened to us? It's hard to track this error down. What's the standard procedure to tackle such an issue?
