Any downsides of having cache outside /tmp?

Hi,

Currently I have the LiteSpeed diskcache located in the tmp partition. But find that it is often full (the tmp partition) due to the cache even though we're using tmpdisk every night.

As such I was wondering if there are any downsides of moving the LiteSpeed's cache outside of /tmp to /diskcache for example?

there is no difference between /tmp and /diskcache at all.

if /diskcache is on a faster partition, or it points to memory(for example point to /dev/shm), then it'll be faster than /tmp
