Hello,

After we enabled Brotli I see a lot of WordPress sites with WP Rocket cache plugin going down.
With error: ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED

Here is customers .htaccess file content:
Code:
# BEGIN WP Rocket v2.10.5
# Use UTF-8 encoding for anything served text/plain or text/html
AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
# Force UTF-8 for a number of file formats

</IfModule>

# FileETag None is not enough for every server.
<IfModule mod_headers.c>

# Since we’re sending far-future expires, we don’t need ETags for static content.

I will try to find which line is causing the issue.

Code:
RewriteRule .* "/wp-content/cache/wp-rocket/%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}/index%{ENV:WPR_SSL}.html%{ENV:WPR_ENC}" [L]
That line caused the issue.

Is there anything you can do to get that fixed? We need to turn off brotli on all servers because of this :(

See some customers are using older version of WP Rocket and I cannot find that line in version:
# BEGIN WP Rocket v2.9.5

So those sites are working fine.....

But see other customers with older version that has that line in .htaccess:
# BEGIN WP Rocket v2.8.1

So I guess it might be a setting inside WP Rocket.

I think it is double compression, rewrite rule redirect request to a gzip compressed version, then server compress the static file again with br.
will have it addressed soon.
