Compile PHP and opcode cache's, and other

Before I use the PHP compile GUI:

In PHP compile page there is and option to "Install Opcode Cache".
Does choosing e.g. APC compile latest APC (or use prebuilt binary), or merely add lines to php.ini?

Does php install keep the old php.ini (/opt/lsws/php/php.ini)?

What is "Mail Header (Identifies Mail Source)" hardening?

compile latest APC, it will not change your php.ini, you need to update it manually if need.
