CPU license

Our system has 2 CPUs which are hexacores with HyperThreading.
This means it has 12 physical cores and 24 logical cores.

To use all the CPU power in this machine, do I need a:
-2 CPU license
-12 CPU license
-24 CPU license

- 2 CPU license
- 4 CPU license
- 8 CPU license

Okay, so your licenses are per core and not per CPU. Is a quadcore with hyperthreading considered 4 or 8 cores?
