To all LiteSpeeders:
We're very proud to announce the release of LiteSpeed Web Server 5.0 Release Candidate 2 and LiteSpeed Web Server 4.2.15.
LSWS 5.0RC2
5.0RC2 has vastly improved stability (as well as all the 4.2.x bug fixes of the past few months). It also introduces virtual host-level bandwidth throttling (similar to mod_bw). (Read more about the new bandwidth throttling in our blog post.) We are much closer now to a stable release and we request that all users who have the opportunity please try out 5.0RC2. The more people that try it, the faster we will be able to make it stable for everyone.
4.2.15
The big advance of LSWS 4.2.15 is improved Apache config parsing. This more optimized parsing should result in faster restarts, better overall performance, and decreased RAM usage. 4.2.15 also contains an improved default cipher set and a few bug fixes. As usual, we will be pushing it to autoupdate once we are sure there are no more bug reports coming in.
Make the jump to LiteSpeed!
