new user help - getting index of / after switching

HI

I have today purchased litespeed license and configured offset port 1000, when i visit my website :1080 i get:

Index of /

I did some googling and couldn't find any answers!

does anyone know what the cause would be?

its the same for all sites on the server when using litespeed.

I found if i go to a users directory ie cd /home/username/

then run:

chgrp nobody public_html

it fixs it for that user..
we are running cpanel.

- what is the cause?
- is their a global script that can fix permissions for all users?
- Why is this needed and not work with out of box permissions from cpanel?

/scripts/fixhome
another scripts /scripts/chownpublichtmls seems being disabled already by cPanel.
or you can ask cpanel for any better option.
