Notice: LiteSpeed web server new release is available

Hi just had this email New update release 4.2.8-ent is available, please download. but when i check our servers it says installed version 4.2.8

Anyone know why

Howdy,

That is because 4.2.8 has just been pushed to auto-update. We usually wait a few days between the release of a new version and pushing it to auto-update (and thus pushing it via email). This allows time for any last minute bugs that appear in the new release to be addressed. Generally, these are few and inconsequential in nature, but, if you wish to be extra careful, you can wait for a release to be pushed to auto-update before upgrading.

It should. Getting pushed to auto-update is when a version starts showing up in the WHM plugin.

Howdy,

You should see it as soon as your server communicates with our licensing server. The reason you don't see 4.2.8 in your WHM plugin (if you don't see it) is because your server hasn't communicated with our licensing server today. (Your server automatically communicates with our licensing server once/day.)

If you want your server to communicate with the licensing server, you can run the command $SERVER_ROOT/bin/lshttpd -V
