Optimal GZIP settings for LiteSpeed/cPanel

I'm confused...where should GZIP be turned on? In LiteSpeed or cPanel?

• LiteSpeed has compression on for both static/dynamic (level: 1), and cPanel [Optimize Website] is set to "Compress All Content".

I'm starting to think I shouldn't compress all content since images don't benefit (and may even decrease performance), but where should I set the MIME extensions manually? (In LS "Compressible Types" setting vs cPanel "Compress the specified MIME types.")

I also noticed that LS settings has wildcard functionality but it seems cPanel does not. I'm also wondering what a recommend list MIME types would be. Thanks for the noob support!

It is in LS "Compressible Types". The default settings should be good for most of the cases. Do you have any special need beyond that?

Thank you so much. I've checked the headers so far everything is GZIP perfectly, all the files I want and none of the ones I don't. What about the GZIP settings in cPanel...that doesn't have any effect? Just ignore?

cpanel settings is for mod_deflate Apache module, not LSWS, can be ignored when LSWS is running.
