Optimal WordPress Settings / Cache?

I'm wondering what the optimal LSWS settings are for WordPress. Particularly, if we use LS cache should we also use WordPress caching programs like W3 Total Cache? I've heard both yes and no, so I would love to hear an authoritative answer.
