Hi Salamander,

Unfortunately, we have no interaction with Global Net Access. This is an apt demonstration of the difficulty in enforcing this restriction. While we do not wish LSWS to be used for porn, it is outside of our limits (as a company of our size) to actively support this restriction.

Does it really make any sense to have license terms that can not be enforced?

I can easily find you ten other hosting companies that are using LiteSpeed for porn but in light of this I don't think I will fill in any more reports. It will save everybody time.

Howdy,

We believe it does make sense, because it allows us a chance to express our company's opinion on the issue. (Which, by the way, is not that there should be no porn, but, rather, that porn on the Internet does an inadequate job of preventing access by minors.)

I had the intention to use LiteSpeed to host porn myself but I did not want to take the risk, hence why I reported first a couple of companies already doing that to see how it would be enforced and learn from the experience.

Now I have a better understanding. Thanks for explaining how it works.

Can you please try to elaborate on this matter ?
On a previous post some years ago, you said that adult related content hurts human morality.

now you say that you’re not actually against porn, but it’s the way that the internet works that bothers you. Letting minors have access on adult content. This is a definitely much healthier opinion, but still it cannot possibly justify the decision “not to allow” LSW on adult websites.

The last post on this thread however, was back In 2014, so I have to ask…what is your position on this matter right now ?

You say that your web server is not allowed to be used for porn sites. Porn is bad, porn is not moral, porn is hurting minors (and is LSW’s job to fix that!)

what about websites related to smoking? Smoking causes cancer.

What about beer and alcohol?

Can McDonalds use your web server for their websites? They sell unhealthy food.

well, it’s not. It’s actually perfectly healthy.
Bottom line is, porn is legal. It’s a billion dollar industry. It’s used by billions of people all around the global. Is part of our life, like anything else.

In my opinion, this policy of yours is absolutely absurd!

You misunderstood something. While I can't speak for LiteSpeed Inc., LiteSpeed isn't opposed to pornography in general, but LiteSpeed might object if you put LiteSpeed and pornography in 1, again in 1, wording together. LiteSpeed has nothing to do with porn at all.

LiteSpeed and porn within 1 sentence is what I mean, regardless of the meaning of this sentence. Again, LiteSpeed never published anything about porn.
