Hey,
The Whole LS server was hanging up today for a few hours (no sites responding). Restarting it would fix it for 5-10 mins but then the problem started again. In the end I tracked it down to an external app that was hanging and that in turn was causing its virtual host to a large number of "requests in processing" (80, not sure if that's actually high, but the others all have 0 right now..albeit late at night).
Fixing the external app appears to have fixed the problem, but is there any way I can prevent one virtual host from taking down the rest? Is there a way of limiting the number of requests a host can process at one time (assuming this is the problem). External App Settings (which seem the most logical place to start) look like this:
Max Connections - 20
Keep Alive Time out - 1000
Initial Request Timeout - 1
Retry Time out - 0
Response Buffering - No
I thought it would be Max Connections, but I'm not sure how it got up to 83 requests on 20 connections?....
best, Zach
(am still on LS 3.3)
