Hi guys,

We installed litespeed a few months ago on all our servers.
We are getting complaints now that google rankings for customers have dropped a slighlty.

We did some troubleshooting and noticed something strange.

When we switch to Apache then sites are around 5 - 7 seconds faster.

We tried this on many sites on 2 servers with Litespeed installed.
We even switched back to litespeed - back and forth - always the same result.

Is there something I'm missing?

We used the tools.pingdom.com tool to test the sites.

how many websites on the same host have you tested ? and total number of all websites on the server ?
have you compared with apache about the whole server's load / memory / bandwidth usage ?

5 - 7 seconds faster looks a big number. after you answered above question, let's see if this 5-7 seconds issue can reproduce.

I've tried it with a mix of HTML sites and PHP sites.
Around 10 on each server

Not all are 5 -7 seconds just 2 of our big ones are - the others are around 2 - 3 seconds difference. But still apache is faster.

I'm sure there is a misconfiguration or something I've missed in litespeed.

There are around 120 sites on 1 server and 500 on the other.

Yes both of the IOwait is around 1 or under and cpu is around 0.5 - 0.8 for both.

you can set a port offset (usually 2000 or 1000), to run litespeed and apache at the same time.

then send me the URL of slowest site in Conversation (private message), so I can start to test and examine it.

communicating in conversation.
tested with webpagetest.org (From: Miami, FL - Chrome - Cable), the page fully loaded time is around 7 seconds not 12-14 seconds. no "5-7 seconds" slower has been confirmed so far.

also I suggested to raise LVE limit for specific account and test again.

waiting for news from sahostking

Ok Litespeed is definitely much faster. Issue was our fault.

We installed Litespeed After we installed Comodo WAF rules which was for apache. Once we uninstalled the rules now and reinistalled the litespeed compatible rules instead. Litespeed is flyyinnnggg :) Yippee :)
