Timeout overridden by server processes

Hi Guys,

Im running a fairly big cron job every hour or so, The problem im finding is that its not executing, So i run it in my browser and found its causing a 508, I increased the time on in my admin control panel and it worked.

Is there some way i can keep the timeout down for users and allowing the server to overrule that?

It is not possible, and not that important, use the same value for all users should be fine.
