Upgrading PHP through cPanel's EasyApache

A few months ago, I made a switch from Apache to LSWS. I'm using cPanel and I used the auto-installer to install Litespeed and the WHM Plugin.

cPanel recently released an update to EasyApache along with an ugrade for PHP5.4. The release note said to recompile through EasyApache. If I recompile Apache and upgrade my PHP (minor revision), will LSWS be able to see the update and use the newer version? Is it safe to do this?

What other alternatives are there?

yes, it's safe. "Build Matching LSPhp" in WHM->litespeed web server plugin is for this purpose.
