Error [QuicEngine::onNewConn] Abort connection, access denied.

Hello,

We're seeing the message: 2026-02-26 18:08:21.867718 [INFO] [1716993] [T0] [##.##.##.##] [QuicEngine:nNewConn] Abort connection, access denied. on one of our servers in the error_log. What causes this and how do we clear the IP block?

You answer the question yourself. If access is denied then something blocks port 443 or port is not open.

The IP was not blocked at a firewall, .htaccess etc. It was very odd, but cleared overnight.

Not IP, but port. Quic needs port 443 to be open!

Hello,

I'm sorry I was not clear. Port 443 is open tcp/udp.

When this was happening a single IP was getting that error. Everyone else could access the sites without issue.

From the part of the log you shared it's difficult to establish what caused the block, but the entries before the one you shared should help trace what initiated it.
