vBulletin - Litespeed cache for guests and Unixy Varnish plugin for all?

Hi @asabet, A vhost is a virtual host. The easiest way to think of it may be that a virtual host is one site on your server. If you are using Apache configurations (httpd.conf, .htaccess, etc.), then you are using Apache vhosts. If you configured your virtual hosts in our WebAdmin GUI, then you...

    LSWS 4.2.21 Released

Hi all, There have been a number of bug fixes implemented recently. They are the focus of LSWS 4.2.21. Here is the full release log: Improved DirectAdmin compatibility — added ability to change user ID inside context of Apache configuration. Fixed bugs in Server Servide Include engine. Fixed...

    Configuring additional suexec suffixes

Understood. I can see that the number of builds you can make is severely limited. We will consider making this customizable in the future. Just for reference, how many builds do you use? Also, I've updated the wiki on multiple PHPs to include all suffixes supported...

    Configuring additional suexec suffixes

Howdy, Unfortunately, we do not have a customizable list for supporting many MIME types at the moment. That blog post is still correct. We will consider adding this in the future. For now, the best workaround would be to use the php5 suffix for one 5.4 build and the php54 suffix for another...

    Litespeed and Comodo Errors

Hello, These errors mean that the Comodo WAF is using some rules that LSWS does not support. We support the vast majority of ModSecurity rules, but not all of them: https://www.litespeedtech.com/support/wiki/doku.php/litespeed_wiki:config:mod_security-tips The errors indicate which rules are...

[Resolved] Unable to configure openssl, libcrypto not found error with openssl library installed

You're very welcome. I did almost nothing, though. Cheers, Michael

    Does litespeed support mod Ruid2?

Hi Dotpro, We do not plan to ever support mod_ruid2. We see it as a security liability and we do not see the need since all LSWS suEXEC modes currently outperform it. Our newest implementation of the WHM Plugin actually automatically turns mod_ruid2 off when switching to LSWS. Cheers, Michael

[Resolved] Unable to configure openssl, libcrypto not found error with openssl library installed

Blind shot: Are you sure your OpenSSL is in /usr/local and not /opt/local? Michael

    mod_pagespeed porting to litespeed?

Hi Wanah, Glad to hear you're excited. Sorry, but I don't really have anything I can update everyone on. Progress on both is continuing apace, but we're not close enough to release for me to give a release date. They're coming, but they still need more work. Thanks for checking in! Michael

    LSWS 4.2.20 Released

Howdy LiteSpeeders, We just released LiteSpeed Web Server version 4.2.20. 4.2.20 contains a number of bug fixes as well as new logic that automatically redirects a request to HTTPS if an HTTP request is made to an HTTPS port. Here is the full release log: New feature: Automatically redirect...

    Memory requirements for high traffic?

You're welcome. You can upgrade or downgrade your license at any time from your account > My Services > View Details > Management Actions > Upgrade/Downgrade. This will automatically update your invoices in our system. (You will get credit if you downgrade. You will receive an invoice for the...

    Memory requirements for high traffic?

Hi Sam, I'd like to start with the caveat that estimating requirements based on traffic is, well, not necessarily accurate. If I were you, though, I would try option 1 first. I think it will be enough. (Honestly, though, the best way to know would be to benchmark a number of setups. I might...

Enable LSCache for all dynamic hosted sites?

Howdy, You're right — it would be great if we had an easy template for configuring LSCache for WordPress setups. Unfortunately, we don't have that at this time. In fact, if you search the Web, you'll find that there is an incredible dearth of solutions like this. That's because these kinds of...

    Looking for Wiki Writers

Howdy, We're looking for some experienced LSWS users to write wikis that answer common problems and explain common setups. We'd like to make LSWS easier for everyone to use and we'd like your help! We have a list of wikis that need to be written, but we'd also like your input as a user on what...

[Resolved] New Release Available displays old version

Hi Joe, Sorry for the delayed response. I'm betting this is due to a corrupted file that appeared on some older versions of LSWS. Try removing your /usr/local/lsws/autoupdate/release file and restarting LSWS. That should fix it, I believe. Cheers, Michael

Enable LSCache for all dynamic hosted sites?

Howdy, Fair criticism. Our cache documentation is probably not all it should be. We do have guides for Magento, IPBoard, and vBulletin, but not for WordPress. Page caching is often not a simple cookie-cutter process. Different sites have different pages that can or cannot be cached and the...

    [Resolved] cPanel mod_ruid2

Just so people know: Version 2.1.5 of our WHM Plugin (included with LSWS 4.2.18 and up) automatically changes mod_ruid2 settings in WHM to settings that work with LSWS when switching to LSWS (and switches the setting back when you go back to Apache). mod_ruid2 is incompatible with LSWS, but you...

New Benchmarks: LSWS vs. Apache for cPanel + WordPress

Just released new benchmarks done by cPanel PHP guru Tristan Wallace for cPanel Conference 2014: http://www.litespeedtech.com/solutions/benchmarks/wordpress-cpanel The benchmarks do a good job showing how LSWS and Apache's RAM usage and server load are affected by increases in traffic — LSWS...
